“Like a long-distance hike or a Himalayan peak, the Northern Forest Canoe Trail inspires adventurers because it’s there—it’s a thrilling challenge and a unique way to experience the Northeast.”

- Jen Rose Smith, Think You Could Paddle the Longest Canoe Trail in the Northeast?

We protect and steward our water trail and foster community vitality to promote inspiring outdoor experiences in the Northern Forest Region. Support our on-going work to keep the trail well-maintained for people like you, and hundreds of other recreational paddlers, watercraft racers, fishermen, birders and visitors to the region.

Delivering on our mission is no small task, and we have organized our efforts into two program areas:

  • Trail Stewardship: Working with volunteers and regional partners to maintain the physical trail, carries, and campsites.
  • Trail Experiences: Collaborating with communities to enable meaningful recreational experiences, such as guided day trips and our signature youth outdoors initiative, the Northern Forest Explorers Program.

Your donation makes a difference in our ability to staff and support the grassroots work that brings our mission to life.  Thank you!

*$300 donation may be given in one lump sum or $25/month for 12 months.  Incentive fulfillment is first come, first served.

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a non-profit, charitable organization as qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. Contributions are tax-deductible.
