Tuesday, July 28, 9am

Join the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation and Northern Forest Canoe Trail on Follensby-Clear Pond for a paddling tour in the headwaters of the Saranac River watershed on Tuesday, July 28.  We’ll spend the morning exploring Follensby - and possibly one or more of the easily accessible connected ponds - to look for loons and other wildlife. You’ll learn about the natural history of loons, environmental threats to their population, and hopefully see this iconic bird of the Northern Forest in its natural habitat. Meet at 9 a.m. in the northern parking lot (furthest from Fish Creek Ponds) on state Route 30 in the town of Santa Clara. We’ll stop for snacks or lunch at 11:30 a.m. The paddle will end at 1 p.m. The rain date will be Wednesday, July 29. This is a free event but registration is required. Sponsored by the Lake Champlain Basin Program.
